Our busy year in review!
Mahoning Valley U.M.C. District Youth Retreat
71 youth and adults attended the Annual Mahoning Valley U.M.C. District Youth Retreat at Camp Asbury from 2/27/15 through 3/1/15 while braving the bitter cold and snow. The event’s theme this year was “Fruits of the Spirit”–Galatians 5:22-23. Our featured speakers were Pastor Renae Meggitt from Calvary UMC, Pastor Jim Rhodes from Mt. Zion UMC and our District Youth Coordinator, Jeff Pellin, from Calvary UMC. The event featured time for break out sessions, small groups, free time and our annual candlelight communion service that was conducted by our District Superintendent, Rev. Dan Bryant. Music was led by Rachel Spak of Vienna UMC. It was an awesome weekend of worship, music and fellowship that was enjoyed by all.
On February 22, 2015, the North Lima-Calvary UMC Youth Group led the Vespers/Worship service at Copeland Oaks Retirement Community. The worship service was a positive interconnectional and intergenerational opportunity for all involved. The youth, along with those who attended, appreciated the chance to worship together. After the service, the youth and the Copeland Oaks residents had a chance to socialize and connect together as Christians.
